In 1995, Matthews Playhouse's first production, Alice in Wonderland, was performed at the old Matthews Community Center. While renovations were taking place, we moved to the old Depot Center and produced Oliver Twist in 1998 thru The Emperor's New Clothes in 2000. Then Christmas of 2000, we opened Scrooge! The Musical in our current location, the new renovated Matthews Community Center. In 2002 we started producing full-length productions through our Theatre Matthews group.
