Find Your Place at the Playhouse

Community theatre takes a community. Step onstage, work behind the scenes, welcome an audience, or help make the next production possible.

However much time you have, and whatever you are good at, there is a way to be part of a production.

Volunteer

Usher performances, build and paint sets, sew costumes, or lend a hand at events - no experience necessary.

Sponsorships

Partner with the Playhouse as a business sponsor and connect your brand with the arts in our community.

Community Partners

Join the network of local organizations that help bring accessible theatre to Matthews and beyond.

Auditions

Take the stage. Auditions are open to performers of all experience levels across our season of productions - see how they work on the auditions page.

Volunteering at the Playhouse

Most of what happens here happens because someone volunteered. Shifts are flexible, training is provided, and no theatre experience is needed.

  • Usher and greet audiences on performance nights
  • Build, paint, and dress the set
  • Help at auditions, camps, and community events
  • Flexible shifts that fit around work and school

Volunteer Portal

Shifts are posted and booked in the Playhouse volunteer portal. If you are not sure where to start, our inbox is answered by a person.

Book a shift

See what needs covering, pick the dates that suit you, and sign up. The portal asks you to set up an account the first time, and opens in a new tab.

Ask a question

Write to contact@matthewsplayhouse.com and our volunteer coordinator will answer, whether you are asking about a group, a school service requirement, or a first shift.

Get in Touch
