How do I exchange or reprint my tickets?
Many of our box office services are now automated for your convenience! Use the links below in order to exchange or reprint tickets, without having to wait for a box office representative: Exchange Tickets or Re-Print Tickets.
How much do tickets cost?
- Everyone who enters the theatre must have a ticket, including infants and young children.
- Ticket prices vary based on the type of show. Please refer to the individual show pages for specific pricing for that show.
- All tickets purchased are subject to NC state sales tax (7.25%) and a $3 ticket fee.
Who counts as a senior, student, child, or military?
- Senior is defined as ages 60 and up.
- Student is defined as anyone attending a primary K-12 School or Homeschool or College/University.
- Child is defined as 12 years of age or under.
- Military is defined as active service members, retired military, veterans, and spouses.
How can I pay?
Tickets must be paid for when ordering. We accept cash, check, debit and most credit cards.
What is your refund and exchange policy?
- We regret that we cannot offer refunds, even in the event where a show is canceled by the presenter due to a force majeure or act of God.
- Tickets may be exchanged for another performance at any time before the performance, subject to availability.
- Matthews Playhouse is glad to offer a credit for a future show or camp should you be unable to attend due to illness or COVID-19 related concerns.
- Matthews Playhouse will no longer be honoring coupons from any 3rd party sources.

How do I avoid third-party ticket scams?
We want your experience at Matthews Playhouse to be truly exceptional! Recently, there has been a surge in unauthorized vendors reselling tickets to our mainstage productions at inflated prices.
To ensure you're purchasing legitimate tickets at the correct price, always visit matthewsplayhouse.com and click the 'Tickets' button.
The maximum price for a ticket to our mainstage productions (including taxes and fees) will never exceed $35.
How do I reach the box office?
Currently, our box office is not holding standard office hours. Call 704-846-8343 option 1 or email boxoffice@matthewsplayhouse.com with any questions or issues, and a staff person will respond as soon as possible.
