Star Wars (Half Day)

Ages 4 to 8

Welcome young Padawans!  This week we will try to

understand the Force while also learning lightsaber stage

combat and becoming our favorite characters from all the

movies.  We will share our adventures on Friday when we

create a video to share with family and friends.

Musical Theatre Intensive

Ages 11 to 13 and Ages 14 to 17

This Musical Theatre Intensive is for upcoming rising stars

and triple threats. Our intensive is for anyone who wants to

become a performer in the world of musical theatre. Our instructors will include directors, choreographers, and musical directors who make their living working and teaching musical theatre. In only 5 days we will create a revue with songs from popular Broadway shows like Beetlejuice, Moulin Rouge, and Hadestown. The class will include instruction in choreography, scene study, how to audition for a musical, and overall preparation for a role. The week will end with an evening showcase on Friday, July 28 at 7pm.

Stranger Things 2 (Full Day)

Ages 10 to 17

A gateway to the upside down has been opened at Matthews Playhouse. In this camp we are taking the journey to save Hawkins to the stage. Campers will have the opportunity to become the characters from stranger things and perform scenes from the show!

Wednesday camp brings this darkly delirious world to spooky and spectacular life. Campers will have the opportunity to bring this hit show to the stage in an original mystery to solve alongside Wednesday's friends and enemies alike.

Beauty and the Beast (Half Day)

A tale as old as time!  Belle, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts need you to bring their story to life!  We’ll learn the songs from the movie and act out some of our favorite scenes.

This is a brand new intensive class for anyone who wants to better understand their voice. In this week-long class your instructor will work on preparing and maintaining your voice to withstand the challenges of singing all styles of musical theater repertoire, including legit, character and belt. At the end of the week students will have received direct feedback from their instructor about their own voice and will perform songs in a special end of class showcase. Space is limited!
