Stage Makeup Workshop

A hands-on, immersive stage makeup experience for performers of all ages.

This 2-hour interactive workshop introduces students to the fundamentals of stage makeup, character creation, and basic special effects (face painting for younger groups). Perfect for performers looking to build confidence backstage and expand their theatrical skill set.

What Students Will Learn:

  • How to properly apply base stage makeup (age-appropriate)

  • Character-based makeup techniques (old age, animal, witch, etc.)

  • Introduction to basic SFX makeup (bruises, cuts, wounds) *older students only*

  • Best practices for applying and removing stage makeup safely

 

What Students Will Receive:

  • Professional photos of their completed makeup look for portfolio use

  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard stage makeup 

  • A Professional stage makeup kit to take home

  • Confidence and practical knowledge they can use for every future performance

Class Time

Youth (Grades 3rd-8th): 4:30-6:30 pm

Older Students/Adults (Grades 9-12 & 18+): 7:00-9:00 pm

    • ​Ben Nye Personal Student Theatrical Creme Kit​​

    • We will add a question at registration to order the correct shade for each student. We will then cut off registration at a certain point to order and have kits arrive in time for the workshop.

  • FX Makeup

    • ​We will need to coordinate with Naomi to see what supplies she will need for wounds/cuts makeup.​​
