Matthews Playhouse Haunted Trail Returns With More Fun & Frights

Annual Fundraiser for Local Nonprofit Theatre Features Spooky and Not-So-Spooky Haunted Trails, Family-Friendly Activities, Food Trucks, and More – October 25-27, 2024

Matthews Playhouse of the Performing Arts will present its 6th Annual Haunted Trail, a spooky outdoor experience, from Friday, October 25 to Sunday, October 27, 2024, behind the Matthews Community Center. This year's theme draws inspiration from Lewis Carroll's classic novel, Alice in Wonderland and event organizers are promising new effects, darker storylines, and even more chilling scenes for thrill-seekers.

“The Haunted Trail is not just a beloved community tradition, it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year,” says Sarah Baumgardner, Executive Director of Matthews Playhouse. “As a nonprofit organization, this event helps support our mission to make the performing arts more accessible to everyone. Our dedicated staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to create new storylines, characters, and thrilling effects so there is something fun for all ages.”

In addition to the main trail, which is not for the faint of heart, a milder "Not So Spooky" version will be available for children ages 6 and up. Families can also enjoy the Halloween Fun Zone, which offers activities such as a Trunk or Treat, face painting, crafts, a dance party, and more. Local food trucks will be on-site, providing a variety of options for attendees.
