Sponsor-A-Student Fund

The magic of live THEATRE can ignite a spark for learning within a young child! THEATRE can play a significant role in the continual
development of vocabulary, reading comprehension and the ability to understand and become effective oral communicators.

At Matthews Playhouse we offer “School Show” field trip
opportunities for children/teens through our SPONSOR-A-STUDENT fund. This program provides funding for students at Title I schools
to attend a live theatre performance at Matthews Playhouse.

Since we began our Sponsor-A-Student initiative in 2015, more than 1,300 students from Title 1 Schools have attended a live theatre
performance heavily discounted OR free-of-charge at Matthews Playhouse.
