Tuesday Classes

Fall (10 Weeks)

Day/Time: *Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm

Fall Semester Dates: September 5, 12, 19, 26; October 3, 10, 17, 24; November 7, 14

(No Class on October 31, Halloween)

Fall Semester Parent Invite: Tuesday, November 14

 

* Please note that Tuesday Classes begin a week earlier than all other SOT classes (due to the Halloween break) Please mark your calendar accordingly.

Winter Semester Dates: January 9, 16, 23, 30; February 6, 13, 20, 27; March 5, 12

Day/Time: Wednesdays @ 6:30pm-8:30pm

PLEASE NOTE: Students who participate in the fall and/or winter Semester of School of Theatre (SOT) are invited to audition for the 2024 Spring School of Theatre (SOT) Performance, and will be eligible for a role based on availability. Receiving a role is not guaranteed. 

Musical Theatre

Offered: Fall 2023 & Winter 2024; Tuesdays OR Thursdays

Fee: $250/per semester

Class Description:

The 6th-8th Grade Musical Theatre class will work on Music, Dance, and Acting each week. Students will build on current skills and will share a brief presentation for family and friends on the last day of class. 

 

(The Winter Semester will differ from the fall in order that students may participate in both semesters without repeating material)

Acting

Offered: Fall 2023 & Winter 2024; Wednesdays

Fee: $250/per semester

Class Description:

The 6th-8th Grade Acting Students will learn the basics of theatre arts by exploring  activities such as pantomime, improvisation and effective speaking using articulation, projection and breathing. Students will build on acting techniques through studying monologues and scenes and will begin basic script analysis and character development. The students will share what they have been working on for family and friends on the last day of class.

 

(The Winter Semester will differ from the fall in order that students may participate in both semesters without repeating material)
