*Caryn Crye- Gwendolyn Pigeon
Caryn Crye (Gwendolyn Pigeon) is very excited for her first experience
performing with Matthews Playhouse. She has performed on stage in Los Angeles and North/ South Carolina. Previous theatre performances include “Murder On the Orient Express”, “1984”, “Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery” (Theatre Charlotte), “Hamlet”, “Romeo & Juliet” (Free Reign Theatre), “The Crucible”, “Gypsy” (CPCC) to name a few. She also is a cellist taught by Oksana McCarthy and performing with The Stateline Community Orchestra. She would like to thank her family and friends for the support and
encouragement, Lisa, Mary W, the whole cast and crew for all your hard work and an amazing time. Lastly, to my sister from another mister, Mary Lynn Bain. It’s been a load of laughs. Thank you for the fun!

Henk Bouhuys- Roy

Henk (Roy) is thrilled to be doing another production with Matthews Playhouse. After near-constant performing in plays and musicals throughout high school, college and summers, life got in the way for many years until a few years ago and Henk has been trying to make up for lost time ever since. Recent credits in the Charlotte area include Frank Gianelli in “Over the River and Through the Woods”, Karl Lindner in “A Raisin in the Sun”, the Preacher in “Violet”, Oscar LaBorde in the world premiere of “One Year to Die”, Ernie Cusack in “Rumors”, and Gaston in “Picasso at the Lapin Agile”. Thanks to Lisa for the opportunity to be a part of this story, which I basically grew up watching as a play, a movie and a TV show. And thanks as always to my wife, Julie, for her unwavering love and support in tolerating this time-consuming hobby of mine. Every chance to perform is a blessing that I will never take for granted.

Jeff Powell- Oscar

Jeff (Oscar) was anxious to get into some serious method acting at home in preparation for his role as Oscar, the slob, but his wife had other ideas. Still, he’s honored to be a part of this sometimes messy show. Jeff’s very first stage production was “The Music Man” with MPH 19 years ago. Since then, you may have seen him as Luther Billis in “South Pacific” (the coconut bra number is hard to forget) or as jovial and even high-flying ghosts in “Scrooge: The Musical”. He’s been a part of many other shows in the area, but he considers MPH his home stage.
Since retiring 3 years ago from Travelers Insurance as an IT Support Tech, he’s welcomed 3 more grandkids to spoil, for a total of 5. When not on stage, he’s also been honing his skills in VR Gaming and Flight Sims in The Cave (a secret lair nestled in his basement), just plain ol’ chillin’ on the deck watching the squirrels and loving life. He offers a huge shout-out to his incredible wife, Sandra, for supporting his theatrical shenanigans over the years.

Mary Lynn Bain- Cecily Pigeon

Mary Lynn Bain (Cecily Pigeon) is so excited to be back on the MPH stage! You might have seen her in “Young Frankenstein” as Elizabeth Benning, Mrs. White in “Clue!” (Flames!!!), Ermengarde in “Hello, Dolly!”, or Mrs. Green in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”! Other favorite roles in the community include Morticia Addams in “The Addams Family” (Old Courthouse Theatre), Eloise Bridgerton in “The Bridgerton Experience” (Cape Fear Regional
Theatre), and Anne Sullivan in “The Miracle Worker” (Old Courthouse
Theatre). A huge thanks to the cast and crew of “The Odd Couple” and to her partner Allen for all of the love and support at home!

*Matthew Lang- Felix Ungar

Matthew Lang (Felix Ungar) is thrilled to make his Matthews Playhouse debut in “The Odd Couple”. After returning to the stage last year in Theatre Charlotte’s “Murder on the Orient Express”, Matthew is excited to keep the momentum going—this time trading trains for poker nights and stepping into the meticulously organized shoes of Felix Ungar. A lifelong lover of storytelling, he especially enjoys exploring a character and the connections formed while bringing a story to life, both onstage and off. When he’s not performing, Matthew can usually be found on a coffee walk, taking photos of his cats, working on a creative project, or at the movies! He’s incredibly grateful to the cast and crew for the laughs—and to his friends and family for pretending not to notice how much he actually relates to Felix.

Mike Carroll- Murray
After a successful run as Wilber Turnblad in Hairspray the Musical, Mike is back at Matthews Playhouse in “The Odd Couple”. Mike has enjoyed several wonderful experiences at Matthews - Ghost of Christmas Present in “Scrooge the Musical”, Grandpa Joe in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, and Monsignor Ryan in “Sister Act”. Mike has also performed at Theater Charlotte, Fort Mill Playhouse, Dilworth Players and Rock Hill Theatre. MPH is a great place for Community Theater actors - outstanding staff and production team, creative directors, and a place to make strong friendships. A big thank you and all my love to my wife Julie, who supports me in this fun hobby!

Nate (Vinnie) is thrilled to be making his debut with Matthews Playhouse. His other credits include: “Guys and Dolls” and “South Pacific” with The Dilworth Players, “Twelfth Night”, “Much Ado About Nothing”, and “Romeo and Juliet” with Legacy Theatre, “The Tempest” with Free Reign Theatre, “A Christmas Carol” with Theatre Charlotte, “The Gods of Comedy” with Old Courthouse Theatre, “Lets Murder Marsha” with Fort Mill Playhouse, and “The Night of January 16th” with Union County Playmakers. When not on stage or playing Hurling, (an Irish sport) or Australian Rules Football, Nate works in marketing for an international software company. He would like to send thanks to friends and family, especially Erin, for all of their love and support.

*Solomon Amaning- Speed

Solomon Amaning makes his Matthews Playhouse debut as Speed in “The Odd Couple”. A Charlotte native, Solomon discovered his passion for acting during a production of “Guys and Dolls Jr.” at Piedmont IB Middle School. He has since built a diverse resume spanning both stage and screen. His credits include “Bad Manners at the Dinner Table” (Alani Renee Productions), on-camera roles in “Devil in a Sundress” and “Silent Murmur” (Eagle Africa Productions), and a featured appearance in "The Hunting Wives”. In addition to his acting work, Solomon is a violinist and vocalist. He continues to hone his craft at the Film Actors' Studio Charlotte and is deeply grateful to his family and friends for their unwavering support.
