Matthew Diem teaches Latin at Covenant Day School in Matthews. After a long break from acting while he completed a PhD in English at Chapel Hill, he has of late become active on the Charlotte-area community theatre scene.

John Curtis Flynn

Involved with the arts throughout his public education, John Curtis Flynn was closely involved with Piedmont High School’s Theatre department during his Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years, playing both supporting and lead performances in stagings of Alice in Wonderland, Ian McWethy’s Bad Auditions by Bad Actors in a competitive showcase, and a comedic rendition of Macbeth.

Kristopher is a true performer at heart, having been singing, acting, and dancing for most of his life. Some of his proudest accomplishments (besides his family) include touring Russia and Denmark in a cultural dance exchange, performing in the 1999 Outback Bowl halftime show, being a USGA-certified gymnastics coach, studying opera, and owning a dance studio for ten years.

Pam Coble Newcomer (Mrs. Wadhurst) is thrilled to be a part of this unique theatre dining experience with Matthews Playhouse Community Series. She last appeared on the Matthews Playhouse stage in URINETOWN (Senator Fipp).

Jeremy is excited to partner with Matthews Playhouse again! Most recently he has worked with Davidson Community Players in THE MINUTES (Breeding), Theatre Charlotte in RUMORS (Ken Gorman) and Matthews Playhouse in their productions of CLUE (Colonel Mustard).

This is David's first performance with Matthews Playhouse. He is most appreciative of the opportunity to be in this production of two Noel Coward short plays and to work again under the direction of Pamela Thorson.

Mikayla Broome is a choreographer and storyteller with a passion for bringing narratives to life through movement. She discovered her love for choreography at the age of thirteen and has been creating ever since.

Paula Baldwin (Clare Wedderburn) is an award-winning actor, director, and theatre arts educator. She is excited to participate in the new Matthews Playhouse Community Series after recent performances in One Year to Die, Young Frankenstein, Clue, and Grey Gardens on the MPH main stage.

Iesha Nyree is excited to be joining the rest of the cast and crew for this evening of plays. She was last seen performing onstage with Queen City Concerts production of Rent.

Deanna has lived in Charlotte for 29 years with her husband, Todd, and multivarious cats and a parrot. She is an avid theatergoer. She majored in drama in college, attended classes at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in CT, and participated in summer stock during that time.

Maureen "Piggie" Gilpin

Elyse began her professional theatrical career at The Barn Dinner Theatre in Roanoke, Virginia, in 1969. Since moving to Charlotte in 1985, she has been on stage for many theatre companies, including Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, CPCC Summer Theatre, Actors Theatre of Charlotte, Theatre Charlotte, Three Bone Theatre, Davidson Community Players, Old Courthouse Theatre, Fort Mill Community Theatre, and Union County Playmakers.

Jeff is thrilled to bring theater to you in the MPH: Community Series. You might have seen him most recently as the high-flying Jacob Marley in “Scrooge: The Musical” at MPH, or as the jolly Christmas Present in past years.
