Matthews Playhouse Hosts Supply Drive for Bright Blessings Bless-A-Baby Program!

The Matthews Playhouse School of Theatre is hosting a special Supply Drive to support our non-profit partner, Bright Blessings, happening now through March 26, 2023.

Matthews Playhouse of the Performing Arts has a long history of building partnerships with community businesses and local non-profit organizations in the Matthews/Mint Hill and greater Charlotte region. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on one of these non-profit partners, Bright Blessings, a volunteer-led organization working to celebrate and enrich the lives of underserved children in our community.

We are proud to help Bright Blessings further their mission by collecting baby supplies to support their Bless-A-Baby Program, a special initiative to support homeless and impoverished babies and their families. Soft blankets, fresh clothing, diapers and wipes, critical healthcare items, feeding supplies, educational materials and more—these gifts of love and support fill each and every bag. Click here to see a short video with more details on this program.

"Whether beginning life in shelters or domestic violence programs, at temporary maternity centers or in supportive housing communities, this program provides a healthy and positive start for the tiniest victims of poverty. For new mothers, worry and stress turn into joyful blessings and promote positive bonding between mother and child." - Bright Blessings

About Bright Blessings

John and Amy Cervantes founded the organization in 2005, when they discovered the need to celebrate birthdays and other milestones for children whose families may not have the resources to do so. Through their core programs; Bless-A-Birthday, Bless-A-Baby, Gift of Literacy and Gift of Care, Bright Blessings reached a major milestone in October of 2020 by celebrating 100,000 children. Today, Bright Blessings has partnerships with over 30 local agencies and school districts and serves children in 6 counties including Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell and York.
